Created by preschool music teacher Britt Powitz, and tested in the classroom, Ooga Booga Music Monster is a music and movement book that exposes children to several musical meters, styles, and keys, setting them up for success in music for the rest of their lives. Research has demonstrated that just listening to different meters (nearly all children's music uses only 1 musical meter) can improve their ability with music later in life.
Kids love Ooga Booga! And the music is professionally produced by the author as well so adults can also enjoy reading and/or singing along too.
It can be read as a normal children’s book, or go online (YouTube) to find the songs for free and listen along as you flip through the pages. The varied meters and easy chorus tend to get kids up and moving, and there are suggested movements that go along with each song.
